Welcome to the Final SECKA update for 2025, our online newsletter keeping you informed about what's happening across our Kāhui Ako.
As we come to the close of 2025, we also come to the end of our journey within the South East Christian Kāhui Ako. While the Kāhui Ako system is concluding, the impact of the work, the relationships built, and the learning shared will continue to shape our schools and our practice well beyond this point.
It has been an absolute privilege to serve as Across School Teachers within SECKA. We have been inspired by the spirit of collaboration, the shared mahi, and the collective commitment to ensuring success for every learner. Together, we have grown professionally, challenged our thinking, and contributed to a community that genuinely values connection, inquiry, and improvement.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to our Lead Principal for the leadership, guidance, and unwavering support that has steered SECKA with clarity and purpose. We are also deeply grateful to our Principals and Wider Leadership Team for their trust, encouragement, and commitment to enabling meaningful collaboration across our schools.
We acknowledge and thank all past and present Across School Teachers, as well as Within School Teachers, whose dedication and contributions have built our collective knowledge and strengthened teaching and learning across our community. The impact of your work will be felt for many years to come.
It is reassuring to know that the SECKA website will remain available for the next ten years, allowing continued access to the research, learning, and resources that represent our shared efforts and growth.
While the formal Kāhui Ako structure is ending, we know that collaboration between our schools will continue. Our partnerships are strong, and our shared purpose remains. Events such as our Kapa Haka festival will still take place, with St Mark’s leading the organisation in 2026 and each school taking turns in the years that follow—an enduring symbol of our unity and shared faith.
It has been a pleasure and an honour to serve in these roles and to work alongside such committed, passionate educators. We are proud of what we have achieved together and grateful for the relationships formed along the way.
We wish everyone within our SECKA community a blessed Christmas and a joyful, refreshing New Year.
With gratitude,
The Across School Teachers
South East Christian Kāhui Ako
Wishing you all a happy, safe, and holy Christmas.
