Kahui Ako ECE Hui

"Transitioning from ECE to School"

On the 24 July 2019, we hosted our first hui to engage local ECE interested in joining our South East Christian Kāhui Ako. There was a group of 16 people representing five Early Childhood Centres on the evening.

We all enjoyed this first opportunity to come together to talk and share ideas.

Our Support Principal, Louise Campbell, welcomed and opened the evening.

Our Lead Principal, Gina Benade, updated the centres on the Kāhui Ako journey so far and shared our strategic priorities for 2019. Link to PowerPoint.

During the evening we had the opportunity to work in small groups. It gave us the opportunity to listen and talk to each other as we reflected on the following  probing questions:

  • What can we do as a Kāhui Ako that we cannot do as individual schools?
  • What could our partnership look like? Possibilities/ Potential and Enablers?
  • How can we strengthen the learning opportunities for our children?

Where to next?
